Momentum and Innovation: Highlights from NAMSS 2025

Earlier this month, Modio headed to beautiful Portland, Oregon, for the 49th Annual National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Conference, one of our favorite events of the year! We’ve exhibited at NAMSS for years now, and it never fails to deliver on meaningful conversations, new ideas, and the chance to reconnect face-to-face with peers and partners in the medical staff services community.

This year did not disappoint. We noticed more excitement than in years past — the energy was high, the sessions were lively, and the conference floor was buzzing with ideas about where our industry is headed. Additionally, attendees and vendors were engaged, and there was a strong sense of momentum across the field.

Hot topics and industry insights

A few key themes stood out this year:

  • Payer Enrollment: Each year, payer enrollment gets a little more attention, and this year it was a major focus. NAMSS even announced the upcoming launch of a Payer Enrollment (PE) certification, an exciting step toward standardizing and elevating this critical function.
  • Automation and AI: It was no surprise that AI and automation dominated the conversation. Attendees were eager to explore how these tools can reduce administrative burden and improve accuracy — two priorities for us at Modio.

A variety of attendees

Another thing that stood out was the general mix of attendees. This year saw a noticeable increase in leaders and directors joining the conference, a sign that credentialing and medical staff services are becoming a more visible, strategic focus area within healthcare organizations. We also met several NAMSS area directors who invited us to connect at their regional events — opportunities we’re definitely looking forward to.

Why it matters

For us at Modio, NAMSS always reinforces why we do what we do. Talking with peers about their challenges and successes helps confirm that we’re on the right track, building solutions that make credentialing not just compliant, but also efficient, accurate, and seamless. After all, the ultimate goal is to give providers more time to do what they do best: care for patients.

NAMSS continues to bring together leaders in the credentialing industry, fostering collaboration and keeping the industry informed on current standards, policy shifts, and new innovations. Modio is proud to be part of that mission and to walk away from Portland with new insights and inspiration.

Next stop: New Orleans!

Up next, we’ll be exhibiting at the 2025 National Alliance for Care at Home Annual Meeting & Exposition, happening November 2–4 in New Orleans. If you’ll be there, come by the Modio booth to say hello, see a demo, and grab some great giveaways. Stay tuned!
